Once a year, the apostle of Ireland is a Wikipedia celebrity.
Last year, St. Patrick’s page received more than 425,000 views on March 17, about 150 times more than normal.
I wondered whether all those people reading St. Patrick’s page would be met with incomplete information or, worse, fake history. So I talked to Phillip Freeman, the leading scholar on the historical St. Patrick.
Freeman looked over the page, and said it was excellent! He could think of literally nothing to add! Why was St. Patrick's Wikipedia page so good? I investigated this question for Slate.
Hope you enjoy my latest article. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
